SANY’s Utica Academy of Science Charter School is looking for a PT/FT IT Technician for the 2023-2024 Academic Year.Number of Hires: 2Primary Responsibilities:Provides resolution for IT support ticketsInstalling and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scannersMonitoring and maintaining computer systems and networksResponding in a timely manner to service issues and requestsProviding technical support across the districtSetting up accounts for new usersRepairing and replacing equipment as necessaryTesting new technologyMacOS / Windows installation, and imaging disks.Maintaining Smartboards, document camerasDisconnecting and reconnecting desktop PCs, phones, modems, laptops, docking stations, and other desktop technical equipmentWorking with, maintaining, and upgrading PC, Mac, laptop, network, and server hardware and software applications, other desktop technical equipment and accessories, and general office equipment (e.g., printers, fax machines)Providing general support to end users in such areas as hardware, application, printer, telecom, video conference, etc. supportProviding break/fix repairsProviding support for major technical incidentsTroubleshooting computer hardware componentsAsset tagging/labeling computers and other technical equipment and updating asset databasesInstalling VoIP phonesDocumenting system problemsWorks with team members in-person and remotely to evaluate and solve technical problemsMaintains detailed logs of conversations and works in the support ticketing systemConfigures and supports data networks at sites where our firm is performing workUpgrades/patches workstations and infrastructure as necessaryRecommends and purchases approved equipment and applicationsAbility to lift 15-20 lbs consistentlyOther duties as assignedRequired Skills:Good understanding of Microsoft Windows / MacOS and how to troubleshootThe ability to properly setup, install, and/or configure hardware (inc. laptops, printers & phones) and softwareProficiency with Google Docs, MS Office products including Word, Excel and PowerPointStrong computer and technical skills. Experience with Microsoft Windows, and data networksStrong work ethic. Must maintain a sense of urgency and professionalism at all timesAbility to operate independently to troubleshoot technical issuesAbility to multitask and handle multiple incoming support requests at onceExcellent support etiquette, active listening, and customer empathyExcellent written communication skillsExcellent attendance recordThe ability to learn new systems quicklyPreferred Skills:An Associate's degree is preferred in an IT-related field.Prior experience in a school district is preferred.Reports to:IT ManagerLocation:Utica / Frankfort, NYLanguage:English (Required)Contract Length:1 yearWant to learn more about our district?
