On going recruitment for Substitute Teaching AssistantsCertified and Non-CertifiedIf you have submitted your fingerprints to the New York State Education Department pursuant to the Safe Schools Against Violence in Education (SAVE) Legislation, then you are not required to be fingerprinted again for subsequent employment in a school. If you have not yet been fingerprinted, pursuant to the SAVE law, all individuals seeking employment in a school setting and all applicants for certification must undergo a fingerprint-supported criminal history background check.
