Job Posting: Anticipated, School Nurse Tuckahoe Union Free School District (UFSD) Position: School Nurse Location: Middle School & High School Anticipated Start Date: September 1, 2026 Application Deadline: Friday, May 29, 2026 Position Type: Full-Time, 10-Month Position Compensation: Compensation commensurate with experience, in accordance with the CSEA salary schedule. Position Overview: Tuckahoe Union Free School District is seeking a compassionate, qualified, and dedicated School Nurse to serve the students, staff, and families of Tuckahoe Middle-High School . The ideal candidate will play a vital role in promoting the health and well-being of students in grades 6–12, ensuring a safe and supportive school environment. Job Responsibilities: Provide direct nursing services, including first aid, illness assessment, and chronic disease management. Administer medications and provide other medical necessities in accordance with physician orders and parental consent. Maintain accurate health records, immunization documentation, and student health histories in compliance with state mandates and district policies. Monitor and manage communicable diseases, including follow-up with families and public health agencies as necessary. Promote overall health and wellness programs for students and staff. Serve as a liaison between school personnel, families, and community health care providers. Support students with IEPs or 504 Plans requiring medical accommodations and/or students with medical or injury plans. Participate in crisis response planning and serve as a member of the school’s safety team. Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional nursing and educational standards. Serve as the point person for athletic clearances for all seasons Qualifications: Required: Current New York State Registered Nurse (RN) license. Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Ability to work effectively with adolescents and collaborate with school personnel and families. Preferred: Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting. Knowledge of New York State immunization requirements and health regulations. BSN or higher degree in Nursing.
