Job Posting: Special Education Reading Teacher – Extended School Year (ESY) Tuckahoe Union Free School District (UFSD) Position: Special Education Reading Teacher – ESY Program Location: Tuckahoe UFSD, Elementary, Middle & High School Program Dates: July 1 – August 11, 2026 Days/Hours: Monday through Friday schedule, 8:30 AM – 2:30 PM Compensation: As Per Contract Job Summary Tuckahoe Union Free School District is seeking a dedicated and skilled and/or Special Education Reading Teacher to support students during the Extended School Year (ESY) program. This position focuses on delivering specialized reading instruction to students with disabilities to prevent regression and support continued academic growth in literacy skills.. Job Description The Special Education Reading Teacher is responsible for providing targeted, evidence-based reading instruction aligned with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). The teacher will assess student reading levels, design individualized and small-group instruction, and implement research-based interventions to support decoding, fluency, comprehension, and foundational literacy skills. This role requires collaboration with special education staff and related service providers to ensure consistent and effective instructional support.
