The teacher collaborates closely with high school administration, families, and support staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal regulations and provides instruction in a Life Skills Program for students who participate in alternate assessment, including academic, vocational, career, and essential skills, for students who have not been able to transition from the middle school to the high school setting due to the current age span of students in the program.Job DescriptionThe High School Special Education Teacher is responsible for designing and delivering individualized instruction that meets the diverse learning, behavioral, and emotional needs of students with disabilities. The teacher develops, implements, and monitors IEP goals; adapts curriculum and assessments; and provides accommodations and modifications to ensure student success.
