TITLE: SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER Certified PositionAUTISM (Elementary 1-6) Affiliation: Teachers’ Association Full Time, 10-month Location: BOCES Smith School Exceptional Education DepartmentDUTIES: Responsible for all aspects of teaching including direct instruction of an Elementary School level 8:1:3 class for students with Autism and communication needs. Duties include, but are not limited to the implementation, and modification of Next Generation Learning Standards/Curriculum, maintaining daily behavioral tracking and data-based performance measures, records of progress, home/school communications, and consultation with the team, etc. Perform other duties as required. *This position will work with students with Autism, whose communication and sensory needs significantly impacts their learning. Previous experience working with Elementary School Students with Autism is preferred. Ability to work well on a diverse multi-disciplinary team is essential.*This position requires the ability and desire to work with elementary school age students with Autism in an 8:1:3 BOCES setting.QUALIFICATIONS: Must hold New York State Certification in Special Education, Grades 1-6; or Permanent New York State Special Education Certification K-12.START DATE: September 1, 2022SALARY: $50,000.00 (2022-2023 base salary), plus additional salary credit for appropriate prior experience, Master’s Degree and Grad Credits.
