We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Elementary School Computer Teacher to join our educational team. The technology/library teacher will provide instruction in basic technology skills (i.e., computer, keyboard, internet and coding) to students in Preschool through Grade 6. The technology/library teacher will work closely with preschool and elementary school teachers to integrate the School’s curriculum and learning expectations into the development of technology instruction to enhance student learning. The technology/library teacher will facilitate the integration of technology tools in classroom instruction and support the implementation of computer-based assessments.The technology/library teacher will conduct engaging story time experiences for preschool children to foster literacy and language development. The technology/library teacher will organize, maintain and support teacher and student use of the school library.Responsibilities:Incorporate Students’ IEP goals into lessonsIntegrate core content area curricular and learning objective into lessons to the extent possibleDevelop and write preschool, lower school age and upper school age lesson plans outlining lesson objectives, expected outcomes, learning standards, supports and materialsProvide guidance to teacher assistants regarding student expectations and management during lessonsMonitor the performance and behavior of students continuously and adjust instruction accordinglyCommunicate and collaborate with classroom teacher to support student achievement in the subject areaAttend various meeting as scheduled (i.e., student “staffing,” staff meetings, etc.)Maintain a professional relationship students, colleagues, administrator s, parents and other community membersUtilize highly effective communication (oral and written) to provide clear and accurate information and maintain professionalismReport incidents (i.e., accidents, unsafe conditions, suspected abuse, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining the health and welfare of student and the safety of the school environment in accordance with state regulation and school policiesMasters Degree PreferredThe following NYSED Teaching Certification are required:Library Media Specialist Students with Disabilities B-2 and 1-6Tiegerman is an AA and EEO employer.
