Tiegerman Preschool and Elementary School is looking for a School Secretary to join our office staff! This is a full-time position with benefits eligibility. The hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:30 AM-4:30 PM The School Secretary plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the school office. This position supports school staff, communicates with parents and students, manages records, and handles a variety of administrative tasks in a fast-paced educational environment. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Greet and assist visitors, parents, students, and staff in a professional and courteous mannerAnswer and route phone calls, take messages, and respond to inquiriesMaintain and update student records, including attendance and enrollment dataPrepare and distribute school correspondence, newsletters, and reportsAssist with scheduling meetings, appointments, and school eventsManage incoming and outgoing mail and deliveriesMaintain office supplies and inventoryAssist the principal and other staff with clerical tasks and special projectsCoordinate with teachers and support staff as neededMaintain confidentiality of student and staff recordsEnforce school policies and maintain a safe, welcoming environment in the front officeOther duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or building Administration Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred)Prior clerical or administrative experience, preferably in a school or educational settingProficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and school management systems (e.g., PowerSchool, Infinite Campus)Strong organizational skills and attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to multitask and manage interruptions professionallyFriendly, patient, and able to work well with children and adultsAbility to handle confidential information with discretionTiegerman is an EEO and AA employer
