Tiegerman High School is looking for a licensed Registered Nurse to join our program (immediate hire) This is a full-time position with benefits eligibility. The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8AM-4PM. The School Nurse is a Registered Nurse who identifies and treats health disorders among students and helps to assist with the maintenance of good health and disease prevention. The Nurse serves as an advocate, liaison, and consultant on health-related issues for students, families, and school personnel. They are a vital part of the school program in supporting an optimum physical, mental, emotional, and social climate for students and staff. School Nurse is an exempt position. The School Nurse reports to the Building Principal and Program Director.ResponsibilitiesProtect and maintains students’ health by providing professional nursing servicesIdentify and assess student health needsAct as a liaison between home and school, and community providers for medical issuesPromote an environment that is positive and student-centeredMaintain the security of school health suppliesProvide first aid and medically prescribed servicesKeep in contact with parents on the health needs of studentsRecommend corrective actions when problems are identifiedExercise good judgment when planning solutions for students' medical needsMaintain student health recordsCreate/maintain policy and procedure for the Nursing OfficeTrain staff on health and safety proceduresReview and approve all incoming student medical forms throughout the year, inclusive of school breaksQualificationsValid RN LicenseProficient in basic life support and patient careExperience with EHR systems and patient assessmentKnowledge of HIPAA regulationsExperience in school nursingTiegerman is an EEO and AA employer
