Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) are health care professionals who treat individuals of all ages, who have been diagnosed with medical problems or other health-related conditions that limit ability to move and perform functional activities in their daily lives. The PTA operates under the direction of a Licensed Physical Therapist. The PTA reports directly to the Coordinator of Therapeutic Services. PTA is an exempt position. The PTA must be licensed.ResponsibilitiesMaintain and review student recordsEvaluate student progress and prepare reports that display their progressAssess students’ physical abilitiesPlan, organize and conduct PT sessions with studentsRestore, maintain, and promote quality of life as it relates to movement and healthMeet with parents and teachers to communicate information pertaining to the students’ IEP.Prevent symptoms and the progression of symptoms of physical dysfunction and disabilityMeet students’ goals and needsRecommend changes in environment that could assist students with their needs and capabilitiesMake recommendations and referrals as neededResearch resources and treatment methods for the studentsMaintain professional training by attending workshopsAll other duties as assignedEEO & AA Employer
