Tiegerman School is a special education program servicing children with autism spectrum disorders from preschool through high school. At Tiegerman, our mission is to identify children with language and autism spectrum disorders early to provide educational programs which will prepare them for a world filled with words, sentences, stories and messages. Language is a symbol system; it provides the means to reach out to the world. Tiegerman is a 12 month program.We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Director of Development to join our team!The Director of Development is responsible for providing support in planning fundraising activities and expands the organizations financial resources. The Director of Development reports to the Director. The Director of Development is an exempt position.Develops and implements a fundraising strategy for the organizationCreates a marketing and public relations programResponsible for expanding and diversifying the organization’s funder baseResearches and writes grantsDevelops relationships with donorsSupervises tracking of donationsMarkets the organizationDevelops opportunities to promote the mission, vision and brand identity in the communityRemains current with trends in fundraisingCollaborates with the Board of Directors on fundraising strategiesWorks with students and parents on fundraising projectsSecures financial support from individuals, foundations, and corporationsDevelops policies and procedures for the development departmentPrepares reports on progress of fund development activitiesFosters an understanding of philanthropy within the organizationBuilds relationships with community stakeholders to advance the fundraising goals of the organizationSupervises all Development StaffThis position may require travel to additional Tiegerman locations (Long Island & Queens)EEO & AA EmployerJob Type: Full-time
