Job Description:Tiegerman is a non-profit special education program servicing students preschool through grade 12 with locations on Long Island and Queens. We are looking for an Admissions Specialist to join our Admissions Department based out of our Glen Cove location. The Admissions Specialist will report directly to the Admissions Coordinator.Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):Analyzes and interprets evaluations, test scores, progress reports, and IEPsPrepares summaries regarding student profilesResponds to admissions inquiries via phone and email dailyAssists prospective families with inquiries about TIEGERMAN, and the Admissions process and criteriaSchedules and conducts or assists with screeningsPrepares written summaries of observations/screeningsTravels to prospective student's schools to assess the functional level of the studentTracks progress of applications and through follow-up with parentsParticipates in collaborative decision-making with Administration regarding student acceptance and placement at TIEGERMANParticipates in IEP meetings with student's CSECollects, analyzes and summarizes data regarding applications on a monthly basisPrepares materials and coordinates open house events, school tours and information sessionsPerforms other work-related duties assigned by the Admissions CoordinatorRequirements:Must have master's degree in psychology, social work, or special educationExperience in special education school environmentExperience working in Admissions preferredBilingual (Spanish) a plus, not requiredTiegerman is an EEO and AA employer.
