Approved by Lynnette Brunger, Superintendent of Schools Elementary (PreK-6) Art Teacher: One Year Term THCSD is seeking a passionate and dedicated Elementary Art Teacher to join our team for a one-year leave replacement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for art education and the ability to inspire students to explore and express their creativity through various artistic mediums. Responsibilities: Develop and implement engaging art lessons that align with state standards and curriculum guidelines for elementary school students, PK-6. Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to experiment, take risks, and develop their artistic voice. Provide constructive feedback and guidance to help students improve their artistic techniques, critical thinking skills, and self-expression. Organize and facilitate opportunities for students to display their artwork and receive recognition for their achievements. Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and community partners to promote art education and advocate for the importance of creativity in students' overall development. Participate in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in art education and contribute to the school's arts program enhancement Maintain accurate records of student progress, behavior and attendance Utilize effective classroom management skills Communicate regularly with parents and guardians Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid NYS teaching license or certification in Art Education. Experience teaching art at elementary level. Proficiency in a variety of art techniques and mediums.
