As a School Counselor, you will play a vital role in the academic, social, and emotional development of students within the school community. Your primary responsibility is to provide counseling services, guidance, and support to students, assisting them in navigating personal, academic, and career challenges. Through collaboration with educators, administrators, parents, and external resources, you will contribute to creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment conducive to student success and well-being.Qualifications:Master's degree in School Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or related field.State licensure and certification as a school counselor (requirements vary by jurisdiction). Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with students of diverse backgrounds.Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and best practices applicable to school settings.Familiarity with laws, regulations, and ethical standards governing school counseling.Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Experience working with children and adolescents in educational or counseling settings preferred.Commitment to ongoing professional development and adherence to ethical guidelines.Responsibilities:Individual Counseling:Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions with students to address personal, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns.Utilize active listening and empathy to understand students' perspectives and provide appropriate guidance and support.Develop personalized intervention plans to assist students in overcoming obstacles and achieving their goals.Group Counseling:Facilitate group counseling sessions focusing on topics such as stress management, conflict resolution, peer relationships, and self-esteem.Create a supportive environment where students can share experiences, learn from one another, and develop essential life skills.Academic Counseling:Assist students in setting academic goals and developing strategies for academic success.Provide guidance on course selection, study skills, time management, and academic planning.Collaborate with teachers and administrators to identify and address academic challenges faced by students.
