Community Schools Teaching Assistant Probationary Track / Spanish speaking required.7.25 HoursThis role will provide extended learning for students during school and outside of the instructional day and will assist in communicating the expansion of school-based health and wellness services for students. Additionally, this position will assist in expanding support services for families and work to engage families in supporting students’ educational journey and wellness. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE ROLE:Under the guidance of the Superintendent and the Supervisor of Social and Emotional, this role will assist in the coordination of the following (but not limited to): Extended learning for students in out-of-school timesExpansion of school-based health and wellness servicesCoordinating the enhancement of behavioral health services availableCoordinating opportunities for family and community engagementConvene meetings, including after school and through the summer, to coordinate services and programs.Cultivates relationships with community leaders and business owners to gain insight into challenges faced by community members and ways to mitigate barriers. Work with individual students or groups of students on special instructional projects. Certification(s): NYS Teaching Assistant Certification or Teacher Cert required.
