Family Engagement Specialist (early elementary) Teaching Assistant Probationary Track / Spanish speaking required This role will provide extended learning for students during and outside the instructional day. It will assist in communicating the expansion of school-based health and wellness services for students. Additionally, this position will assist in expanding support services for families and work to engage families in supporting students’ educational journey and wellness. ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE ROLE: ? Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and Community Engagement, this role will assist in the coordination of the following (but not limited to): Liaising with all community partners in schools o Coordinating opportunities for family engagement Identifying school needs and resources o Collecting and tracking family engagement and student outcome data to support the ongoing evaluation and improvement of programs/services Engaging newly registered families and families of chronically absent children by linking them with vital resources and services. ? Attending meetings (including) after school to support coordination of services and programs. ? Support and maintain relationships with community partners. ? Support the Supervisor of SEL and Community Engagement in various administrative tasks and special projects as needed. Special Requirements: ? 7.25 hr. workday plus ½ hour lunch ? Frequent hours outside of the instructional day, flexible hours, and weekend work required ? During the instructional day, support families at the district office at least once a week and support families at school building(s) Qualifications: Teaching Assistant Certification, Spanish Speaking, experience with facilitating community schools’ services and/or community relations work. Effective: April 2024 (If newly hired to the district, will be expected to attend New Teacher Orientation, August 25, 28, 29, and Supt. Days August 30 and 31st -- 2024) Salary and benefits per the TAT Contract.
