Sleepy Hollow High SchoolProbationary TrackSpecial Education TeacherLife Skills (12:2:1) The successful candidate will have experience working with special education students in a variety of contexts, demonstrate an understanding of effective pedagogical practices that promote a student-centered learning environment, and feel comfortable integrating technology as an instructional and learning tool. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Teaching students with intellectual and developmental disabilities.A proven record of working with students with a range of intellectual disabilities and significant communication disorders.Leadership qualities to collaborate with a team of support staff to establish expectations for student success.Experience working with students with Autism preferred.Experience using Unique Learning System preferred.Experience with Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.Certification(s): NYS certification in Disabilities Generalist / Special EducationEffective: September 1, 2023 (Will be expected to attend New Teacher Orientation in August prior to the start of the school.)Salary: Salary and benefits as per the TAT contract
