The Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support at Southern Westchester BOCES is seeking an Assistant Director to serve as an integral member of our team. PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The Assistant Director’s specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Partner with the Center’s Senior Director to coordinate daily operations.Conduct needs assessment, calendar professional learning programs, build program descriptions (learning goals, activities for learning, and assessing for learning), and partner with industry experts to support K-12 educators.Design and lead high-quality professional learning opportunities with current and growing areas of expertise (in-person, hybrid, online courses, embedded coaching, etc.) that simultaneously engage participants from multiple districts and customize single district programs.Remain current in policies and practices related to professional learning, NYSED standards-based curriculum, teaching and learning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.Engage in and facilitate research and evaluation (needs assessments, etc.) to determine the effectiveness of current Center, district, and school practices and identify commendations and recommendations.Curate, create, and disseminate instructional resources and materials to support teaching and learning.Assist the Center’s Senior Director in supervising and evaluating the Center’s Team Members.Serve as the Center lead in the absence of the Senior Director of the Center.Participate in Board of Education presentations as requested by the Senior Director or Superintendent.Assists districts in developing their Professional Learning Plan (PLPs) in accordance with district, NYSED, and federal guidance.Collaborate with the Center’s team to assure national, state and local initiatives are supported and reflected in the Center’s daily operations and reflected in necessary reports and documents.Participate in the budget process including regular center-wide profit & loss meetings, budget preparation, and budget administration in collaboration with the Center’s team.Complete additional tasks/duties as assigned by the Center’s Senior Director. QUALIFICATIONS:New York State District Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL) REQUIRED.Five (5) or more years as a teacher with additional or concurrent experience leading professional learning and/or peer coaching.Excellent teaching, coaching, communicating, and presentation skills.Successful history of planning and leading professional learning in face-to-face hybrid and virtual learning environments.Ability to travel to schools and districts throughout the region and surrounding areas and attend occasional state-wide meetings either virtually or in person.Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.Experience building and administering school/program budgets and performance and operations management.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively on a team that includes field-based consultants.Expert in selecting and using instructional technology.Experience with professional supervision and evaluation (preferred).The Southern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services, its officers and employees, does not discriminate against any individuals, including but not limited to students, employees or applicants on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, creed, sex, gender (including gender identity and gender expression), sexual orientation, disability, age, citizenship status, marital status, partner status, genetic information, predisposing genetic characteristics, weight, military status or service, political affiliation, or domestic violence victim status.
