This includes preparation of monthly profit and loss statements as well as assisting other centers with preparation of their center’s own profit and loss statement.Must be proficient in the financial applications utilized by the BOCES and have the ability to help others in the use of these applications.Responsible for the monitoring of center budgets and assisting the centers with budget transfers and adjustments when necessary.Assists the Assistant Superintendent for Business & Administrative Services in preparing and implementing the SWBOCES budget.Prepares and/or supervises the preparation of financial or other reports.Must be able to problem solve within the functions of the Business Office which include Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Purchasing, and General Accounting.Meet with the center personnel on a regular basis to facilitate questions or concerns related to financial matters of the BOCES.May act as purchasing agent and prepare specifications for purchases and issue purchase orders.Assists in the training, supervision, and evaluation of all business office staff.Implements policy decisions of the Board of Education.Assists in recruiting and selection of staff for the Business and Administrative Services Department.May prepare agendas and materials for meetings.Any additional duties as assigned by the District Superintendent or their designee. QUALIFICATIONS:CIVIL SERVICE QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance or related field and four (4) years of work experience where the primary function of the position was financial operations, two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory capacity.SUBSTITUTION: A Master’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Business Management, Finance or a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of general experience. There is no substitution for the two (2) years of specialized supervisory experience.Appropriate work experience and technological skills.Such alternatives as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.Priority given to candidates who are currently on a Civil Service List for the title Business Manager.Candidates must have taken or be eligible to take the civil service exam for the title Business Manager.
