The Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support at Southern Westchester BOCES is seeking a Supervisor of Literacy and Learning to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced elementary ELA/literacy educator, professional learning leader, and school/district level leader (preferred). PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: The Supervisor of Literacy and Learning serves as the regional expert in literacy who works with teachers, school leaders, and district leaders to ensure all students are engaged in high quality literacy learning. The Supervisor of Literacy and Learning’s specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Lead the region in best practices for ELA/literacy teaching and learning.Co-lead our Excellence in Leading, Teaching, and Learning programming. Co-lead networks: Early Childhood Educators’ Network. Remain current in policies and practices related to professional learning, NYSED standards-based curriculum, teaching and learning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.Develop and lead high quality professional learning via face to face, online, and/or hybrid models regionally and in-district.Supervise and expand our extended team of expert consultants and coaches.Build/extend meaningful relationships with partner schools and districts.Lead schools/districts through data analysis, self-assessment, and professional learning planning.Curate, create, and disseminate instructional resources and materials to support teaching and learning.Identify and develop new capacity building educational services and programs in response to the unique needs of schools and school districts.Ensure consistent data collection and reporting of learner feedback, attendance, and program effectiveness to Center faculty and others.Assist with the business and management aspects of the Center (budget, program descriptions, partnerships, evaluation, etc.).Participate in state-wide and other professional meetings.Participate in Board of Education presentations as requested.\QUALIFICATIONS:New York State District Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL) REQUIRED.5+ years teaching experience (literacy, ELA, and/or reading) with additional or concurrent experience leading professional learning and/or peer coaching.Prior experience as a school leader (preferred) with additional or concurrent experience leading professional learning and/or peer coachingStrong knowledge of NYSED standards and ELA programs/curriculums in regional schools.Excellent teaching, coaching, communication, and leadership skillsAbility to travel to schools and districts throughout the region and occasional to state-wide meetings.Expert in selecting and using technology.Apply on OLAS
