PRIMARY PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:The HV RBERN Resource Specialist’s (Technology) specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:Conducting needs assessment, leading regional and district-specific professional learning sessions, building program descriptions (learning goals, activities for learning, and assessing for learning), responding to district requests for resources and support, and partnering with industry experts to support K-12 educators.Designing and leading high-quality professional learning opportunities within current and growing areas of expertise (in-person, hybrid, online courses, embedded coaching, etc.) that simultaneously engage participants from multiple districts and/or customized district specific programs.Conducting technology-focused virtual and in-person professional learning opportunities for workshops, training sessions, and courses for school staff, administrators, boards of education, educators who support ELLs, and partners.Researching current, new, and developing technologies that extend and support learning for ELLs and provide demonstration lessons and professional learning on these technologies to support HV RBERN and Center colleagues, and regional educators of English Language Learners (ELLs).Partnering with educators on projects related to ELLs for specific programs as assigned.Supporting all teammates in using technology to meet HV RBERN and Center deliverables, including supporting professional learning and creating and managing online resources/learning environments.Continuing to learn and remaining current in policies and practices related to instructional technology, professional learning, NYSED standards-based curriculum, teaching and learning, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.Engaging in and facilitating research and evaluation (needs assessments, etc.) to determine the effectiveness of the HV RBERN’s current programs and practices and identifying commendations and recommendations.Curating, creating, and disseminating technology-rich instructional resources and materials to support teaching and learning.Using data to inform decision-making that supports HV RBERN and Center deliverables. Managing technology orders and inventory for the HV RBERN. Completing additional tasks/duties as assigned by the HV RBERN Executive Director and Center’s Senior Director. QUALIFICATIONS:New York State District Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL) REQUIRED.3 – 5 years as a teacher. Experience leading professional learning and/or peer coaching.Excellent teaching, coaching, communicating, and presentation skills; well versed in NYSED Learning Standards. Expert in selecting and using instructional technology, including Learning Management Systems (LMS) and /or Google Classroom.Successful history of planning and leading professional learning in face-to face, hybrid, and virtual, synchronous, and asynchronous learning environments.Ability to travel to schools and districts throughout the HV RBERN region and surrounding areas and attend occasional state-wide meetings either virtually or in person.Expert in using data (selection, analysis, and application) in K-12 teaching and learning.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively on a team that includes field-based consultants.This is a 10 month position with an additional 25 days in July & AugustThe Southern Westchester Board of Cooperative Educational Services, its officers and employees, does not discriminate against any individuals, including but not limited to students, employees or applicants on the basis of race, color, national origin, ethnicity, religion, creed, sex, gender (including gender identity and gender expression), sexual orientation, disability, age, citizenship status, marital status, partner status, genetic information, predisposing genetic characteristics, weight, military status or service, political affiliation, or domestic violence victim status.
