The SWBOCES Center for Professional Learning and Curriculum Support is seeking a Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support to join our team. The ideal candidate is an experienced general/special education/inclusion teacher and expert staff developer/coach who embraces SWBOCES’ mission, is passionate about professional learning, and thrives in a collaborative team environment. The Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support will lead professional learning designed to promote high quality teaching and learning that aligns with NYSED’s Learning Standards, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) policy, and Culturally Responsive and Sustaining Education Framework (CRSEF), throughout the Southern Westchester region. The Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support will bring an open and innovative mindset, a deep belief that all children can learn, and excellent organization, communication, and project management skills to coach and provide strategic support to educators in component schools and districts.The Supervisor of Teaching, Learning, and Student Support’s specific responsibilities include but are not limited to: Develop and lead high-quality professional learning opportunities through workshops, online and hybrid models, embedded coaching, etc. for SWBOCES and component districts. Build/extend relationships with partner schools and districts by assisting schools/districts in developing, monitoring, and evaluating teaching and learning (P-12). Assist teachers in identifying and coordinating instructional programs matching student needs while communicating and promoting high expectations for student performance. Remain current in policies and practices related to special education and disseminate instructional resources and materials to support teaching and learning. Identify and develop new capacity building educational services and programs in response to the unique needs of schools/districts/region. Build a team of expert coaches and consultants that thrives on trust, collaboration, and professional growth. Assist with the business and management aspects of the Center (budget, program descriptions, partnerships, evaluation, etc.). Foster collegiality and team-building. Strive to improve leadership skills through self-initiated professional learning. Serve as an expert in one or more of the following areas: special education, DEI, co-teaching, math, and/or ELA. Assist with supervision and evaluation of Center staff.Qualifications: Five (5+) years teaching experience (special education or math education preferred). Prior experience as a staff/professional developer or coordinator. Expert in selecting and using instructional technology. Excellent teaching, coaching, communication, and presentation skills. NYS District Administrative Certification (SDA or SDL). NYS teaching certificate (special education, math, or elementary education preferred). Ability to travel to schools and districts throughout the region and surrounding areas. Ability to work with field based consultants/teams.
