Southern Westchester BOCES is seeking a visionary leader to serve as building principal at our Rye Lake MS/HS beginning on July 1,2022. SWBOCES, whose core values are trust, respect, collaboration, and excellence, provides special education programs throughout Westchester County which offer the full continuum of student services. The Rye Lake Middle/High School. Located in North White Plains, New York serves needs of all students in a supportive and therapeutic setting, while simultaneously emphasizing social and emotional skill development and a rigorous curriculum aligned to the NYS Standards. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:New York State Certification – School Building Leader (SBL).Special Education Certification or equivalent experience in Special Education.Knowledge and experience in the Part 200 Commissioners’ Regulations and the CSE process.Master’s Degree.Thorough knowledge and understanding of the continuum of Special Education Services, Disability Classifications including best practices to support alternately and NYS assessed students.Excellent written, speaking and listening skills.Instructional Leadership experience.Documented experience demonstrating strong student management skills.Knowledge and understanding of Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports (PBIS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).Thorough knowledge of the Next Generation Learning Standards, including differentiation strategies to meet the needs of Students with Disabilities.Up-to-date knowledge of graduation pathways and options for all students.Previous building-level leadership experience preferredSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
