Full-time Resource Specialist (RS) will report to the Executive Director. Position will be located at Southern Westchester BOCES, serving nine (9) BOCES regions including Putnam Northern Westchester, Rockland, and Orange-Ulster non-component districts, as assigned by the Executive Director. DUTIES TO INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:Conducts workshops, training sessions and courses for school staffs, administrators, boards of education and RBE-RN Advisory Council and Regional Network partners on current initiatives in curriculum, assessment, and instruction;Conducts needs assessments and responds to specific requests for information, materials and training from schools that participate in the service;Partners with educators on projects related to ENL students for specific programs as assigned;Disseminates information throughout the region related to current NYSED initiatives and exemplary practices;Includes work with students to demonstrate effective teaching practices while promoting NYSED initiatives; Attends training sessions to gain information that is valuable to regional educators;Manages a professional materials collection and promotes use among regional educators;Develops training, materials and coursework, incorporates and promotes the use of technology and develops proposals of training and funding;Collaborates with other Regional Network Partners to provide technical assistance and training that meet the common needs of districts;Incorporates the use of technology in the delivery of service for information gathering, communications, and presentations; Manages the planning and implementation of budgets for projects and grants as assigned;Performs other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of the HV RBE-RN andSW BOCES’ Director and Assistant Director of Professional Development.
