DESCRIPTION: We are seeking a dedicated and passionate School Psychologist to join our Susquehanna Valley Special Services secondary team. With enrollment of approximately 1,400 students’ district wide and approximately 600 students at the middle school and high school level, our School Psychologist plays a critical role in supporting our students, staff and promoting a nurturing school climate with the following duties and responsibilities:Lead psychological testing and interpretation to determine students’ strengths, challenges, and learning needs.Possess strong organizational skills by maintaining accurate scheduling and records, being prepared and meeting deadlines.Collaborate with general education and special education staff to implement strategies and interventions to support students’ academic and behavioral success.Demonstrate strong understanding of federal and state special education regulations and criteria to help guide decision-making with students’ best interest in mind.Work productively with educators, parents, and other stakeholders to create Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), 504 Plans, functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention plans, and various interventions/supports tailored to students’ unique needs.Effectively maintain positive and trusting relationships with key stakeholders (students, parents, staff and the broader community)Be an active member of the special education team by participating in IEP and 504 meetings, manifestation determination review meetings, team meetings, and others, as required within assigned buildings.Provide counseling and crisis intervention services to students, addressing emotional, social and behavioral concerns.Participate in multidisciplinary teams to develop strategies for school-wide initiatives that promote mental health and well-being.NYS CERTIFICATION: School Psychologist or eligible to receive NYS certification as School PsychologistWORK YEAR: September – JuneSALARY: Starting salary is $58,000, increased based on experienceSTARTING DATE: September 3, 2024APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 12, 2024In addition to applying on OLAS, you must also submit an Administrative Personnel Application found on the svsabers.org website:Send all of the following application materials to:Letter of InterestRésuméSV Administrative Personnel ApplicationCopy of NYS Certification(s)Three (3) Letters of RecommendationOFFICIAL College TranscriptsCatherine Kacyvenski, Assistant SuperintendentSusquehanna Valley CSDP.O.
