POSTING DATE: April 21, 2026 POSITION: Student Support Counselor, BUILDING: Middle/High School DESCRIPTION: Stillwater Central School District is seeking a compassionate and student-focused School Counselor to support students at the middle and high school levels. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting students’ social, emotional, and academic development, while helping to ensure they are able to fully access their educational programs. Key Responsibilities: Provide individual and group counseling services to students, including those with IEPs and 504 Plans Respond to and support daily crisis situations in a timely, professional manner Assist students in managing mental health needs and navigating social challenges, including peer relationships Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and related service providers to support student success Connect students and families with appropriate community-based resources and supports Participate in CSE and 504 meetings as appropriate Maintain accurate and compliant documentation of counseling services and interventions Support overall school climate and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment Qualifications: Valid NYS certification as a School Counselor Experience working with adolescents in a school setting preferred Strong understanding of mental health supports, counseling practices, and crisis intervention Ability to build strong, supportive relationships with students and families Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills Commitment to supporting the academic and social-emotional success of all students SALARY: per STA contract/commensurate with experience Start Date: September 2026 Apply by: May 6, 2026 To: Mrs. Mikal Benamati, Director of Pupil Personnel or on OLAS
