POSITION: Special Education Teacher, Secondary Level DESCRIPTION: DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:Stillwater Central School District is seeking a dedicated and passionate Secondary Special Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) while fostering an inclusive and engaging learning environment.Responsibilities:Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with New York State Learning Standards and individualized student needs.Provide differentiated instruction and support to students with disabilities in a resource room or consultant setting.Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and parents to ensure student success.Develop and maintain IEPs, progress reports, and other required documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.Utilize data-driven instructional strategies to support student learning and progress.Implement positive behavioral interventions and supports to foster a productive learning environment.Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and district initiatives.Qualifications:New York State Certification in Students with Disabilities (Grades 7-12) A second certification in a content area (e.g., English, Mathematics, Science, or Social Studies) is preferred but not required.Knowledge of evidence-based instructional practices and behavioral interventions.Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.Experience working with students with disabilities at the secondary level is preferred.SALARY: Per STA Agreement PROCEDURE: Apply to Mrs. Mikal Benamati, Director of Pupil Personnel Services via email: mbenamati@scsd.org or on OLAS by: July 1, 2025 START DATE: September 2025 (with some summer training days)
