POSITION: School Social Worker Responsibilities include: Stillwater School District is looking for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker to work in our elementary school, Prek-5th grade. This position primarily involves the following tasks: IEP/504 CounselingCommunity Outreach to Providers to Support Student LearningMedicaid BillingCrisis Response for studentsSocial-Emotional Curriculum Delivery Push-in to ClassroomsAssistance with the Backpack ProgramAttend CSE, Attendance, and MTSS meetingsParticipate in Development of Crisis and Behavior PlansFurther ResponsibilitiesProvides crisis management assistance when needed daily, including assessing for safety, initial suicidal or harm to self/others, prioritizing daily school counseling/building needs/on call-walkieSchedules and helps teach classroom programs schoolwide (Kelso’s/KC’s Choices/Second Step/Personal Safety/Abuse Prevent/Erin’s law); daily living skills, communication skills, conflict management, problem-solving and coping skills to enhance social and academic functioning (addressing current mental health in schools initiative)Collaborates with Saratoga County Child Protective & Preventive Services as well as Adult & Family Services on a frequent weekly (or more often) basis to address urgent needs when it is believed that a student is at risk of harmCollaborates daily with students, teachers, administration and families to address ongoing social-emotional needs of students on a consult basisContributes to MTSS team for Elementary School when invitedContributes to the Threat Assessment Team (District wide)Provides trainings to teachers, school staff and parents in regard to working with children with intellectual/behavioral challenges; social/emotional needs; de-escalation strategiesCoordinates the Backpack program in relation to initial referrals, student contracts, student situations that need collaboration and follow up for food supportAssists families in finding community resources to help with various physical and other needs (i.e., housing, social services information and referral)Collaborates with area prevention educators to provide bullying sessions in all classroomsCERTIFICATION: Current NYS Education Department School Social Worker certification*LMSW Professional License preferredSALARY: Per the STA Contract and will commensurate with experience PROCEDURE: Apply on OLAS by April 10, 2023START DATE: July 1, 2023
