Stockbridge Valley Central School District is looking for a Pre-K - 12 School Psychologist / CSE & CPSE Chairperson.General Statement of Duties: School Psychologist CPSE/CSE Chairperson is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation and evaluation of individual educational programs for the District’s students with special needs. As well, this individual will provide direct support and interventions to students, consult with teachers, families, and other school-employed mental health professionals (i.e., school counselors, school social workers) to improve support strategies, work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies, and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. Reports to: Director of Special Education Responsibilities: Serves as the Chairperson for the Committee on Special Education and Committee on Preschool Special Education Conduct psychological assessments and interpret resultsNetwork with teachers and families to create 504 plans and individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that help ensure success of students with disabilitiesProvide individual and group therapy per IEP requirementsIntegrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate. Ensures that all required functions, practices and procedures of the CPSE/CSE including referrals, recommendations to the BOE, placements, programming, and funding are in alignment with the required timelinesCollaborate with special education team to design and implement intervention strategies and programsFacilitates special education data collection and confirms data accuracy for district and state reportingConducts annual reviews and periodic reassessments of students. Maintains accurate student recordsPrepares compliance reviewsProvide information for district office administration and BOE as requestedInvolves the appropriate individuals in the planning processInterpret the laws and regulations for compliance of special education requirementsContribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, coping and problem solving in the classroomProvide technical knowledge regarding educational disabilities and student needsImplements BOE Policies and administers rules and regulation relating to special educationParticipate in professional growth activities on a yearly annual basis including in-services, professional reading material, and/or other available offerings. The School Psychologist, CSPE/CSE Chair shall undertake any additional duties and responsibilities as deemed necessary and appropriate by the superintendent. Certification as a School Psychologist required.
