Job Description; Unique Information:A full-time probationary K-12 Instrumental/General Music teacher is needed beginning September 1, 2023. The successful candidate will join the award-winning music program here at Stockbridge Valley Central School District. We are seeking a candidate to develop and implement a creative curriculum and instruction at the elementary and secondary levels. Stockbridge Valley CSD Music Program Highlights:Winter & Spring Concert: Hosting an annual winter & spring concert where students from various music ensembles such as choir, and band perform a wide range of musical pieces for the school community and parents.Musical Productions: Organizing, Producing and Staging full-scale musical productions, such as "Elf," Newsies, "Beauty and the Beast," & "Grease," involving students in acting, singing, dancing, and playing musical instruments in grades 4-12.Solo and Ensemble Contest: Participating in solo and ensemble competitions at the district or state level, where students have the opportunity to perform individually or in small groups and receive feedback from professional adjudicators.Collaborative Performances: Collaborating with other schools or community organizations for joint concerts or performances, such as a combined choir concert or a joint band/orchestra performance.Music Tours: Organizing music tours where students have the chance to perform at different venues, schools, or even internationally, allowing them to experience different musical cultures and gain performance experience.All-State Honors: Having students selected for All-State music ensembles, such as All-State Choir & All-State Band which showcases their exceptional talent and dedication to music.Community Outreach: Engaging in community outreach initiatives, such as performing at local sporting events, nursing homes, hospitals, or charity events, spreading the joy of music and contributing to the community.Supportive Community: Supportive Board of Education, Community, Staff & School Administration.
