The Assistant Director will develop, plan, organize, implement and coordinate all aspects of early childhood services for young children with and without disabilities. The AD will assess needs and promote the services offered at Kids Unlimited by building relationships and working closely with local counties, school districts and service/care coordinators. The AD will be responsible for goal setting and development of a growth strategy, census management, program operations, staff supervision, coordination of communication with stakeholders, and ensuring quality programming. The Assistant Director operates Kids Unlimited in accordance with NYSED and the Office of Children and Family Services regulations and licensing provisions.The Assistant Director of Early Childhood Services reports to the Residential School Director on all aspects of the program..Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Leadership and supervision of all early childhood programs at the Kids Unlimited Preschool.Programmatic, including budgetary, goal setting and development of a growth strategy that correlates with the mission and vision of Springbrook.Support a learning-oriented and positive organizational culture that emphasizes quality experiences for children, collaborative relationships, continuous improvement, and high performance.Promote a safe, nurturing, healthy, positive, caring environment where self-concepts are enhanced, independence encouraged, and individuality respected.Write and implement policies that adhere to regulations and organization requirementsDevelop and maintain parental rapport: serve as point of contact for families and stakeholders, keep parents informed of their child's daily experiences and center activities, and interact with Springbrook nursing team regarding student health and attendance.Recruit, train, supervise and retain quality staff.Plan, develop, schedule and/or provide in-service training and staff evaluations.Manage census and budget in collaboration with Admissions Coordinator and DirectorEnsure facilities are clean, safe, and regulation compliant.Foster and cultivate partnerships with other organizations.Prepare and maintain administrative and business reports and recordsALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNEDQualifications, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (Masters in Education or related field preferred), Child Development or related field and one year of full time teaching experience in a child care center and one year of supervising in a childcare center or NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential and two years’ experience in a NY OCFS licensed child care facility with at least one (1) year of teaching experience and (1) year of supervisory experience an Working knowledge of NYSED regulations preferredMaster’s degree preferredMinimum of 18 years of ageExcellent customer service skills.Able to build successful relationships and have the ability to influence people at all levels.Proven track record of high performance and exceptional results.Able to lead and manage successfully.Skill in planning and organizing, able to meet strict deadlines.Effective verbal and written communication skills.Able to define problems, and resolve them quickly and appropriately.Skill in efficiently handling conflict and complaints.Ability to work with frequent interruptions and changing priorities.Computer literate, including proficient with Microsoft Office programs.Must provide written documentation of recent health exam to support excellent health prognosisComplete TB skin test and be free from contagious diseases
