Due to the retirement of the current Superintendent of seven years, the Springs UFSD is conducting a search for a new Superintendent to assume the role on or about July 1, 2024. The community of Springs is located in the Town of East Hampton, a hamlet in Eastern Long Island offering a broad array of assets, from its unique location to its beautiful landscape overlooking Gardiner's Bay on Long Island's prestigious South Fork. Springs is a diverse community, experiencing a 31% growth in population over the last two decades.The Superintendent will lead the school system, which has an annual operating budget of more than $35 million with approximately 700 students from pre-K to eighth grade.The school is looking for a district leader that appreciates our diversity and champions our mission of academic rigor and character development, producing well-rounded students who will find success as they transition from Springs UFSD to East Hampton High School. The next Superintendent will need to:Be an excellent communicator both within the school and with the communityOversee budget development while being mindful of our constituents as well as our tuition obligation to East Hampton High SchoolUnderstand best educational practices and work to promote development of both students and staffUndertake grant writingBe a strong advocate for the district with government officials on the local and state levelsBe a visionary who can look ahead to where education and employment trends are heading to make sure Springs is on the right pathBe prepared for a hands-on job Qualifications needed;New York State School District Administrator (SDA) or New York State School District Leader (SDL) certification.Salary-benefits are competitive.
