South Country Central School District has an anticipated opening for a probationary Special Education Teacher at Kreamer Street Elementary School. South Country School District is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher for our elementary age classroom with a ratio of 8 students to 1 teacher and 3 instructional teacher assistants(8:1:3)Responsibilities:- Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities- Utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and discrete trial instruction- Oversee classroom aides in data collection, behavior intervention plans, and instructional techniques- Develop and implement positive behavior support plans- Utilize augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices and strategies- Collect data and monitor student progress- Collaborate with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, etc.) Qualifications:- Valid NYS teaching certification in special education- Experience teaching students with autism and developmental disabilities- Strong knowledge of ABA principles, discrete trials, and evidence-based instructional strategies- Expertise with AAC devices and functional communication training- Ability to implement behavior intervention plans and positive behavior supports- Data collection and progress monitoring experience- Excellent communication and collaboration skillsHours: 6 hours per Day
