Date: December 6, 2024 Posting : #16760 Announcement of Vacancy Sign Language Interpreter: ElementaryThe District has a need for a full time Sign Language Interpreter at the elementary school level. The Educational Interpreter’s primary function is to facilitate communication among deaf and hard of hearing students and their hearing peers, teachers, and other personnel involved in a student’s education through the act of interpretation. Other educationally related duties may be performed as appropriate when the interpreter is not required to do interpreting. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Sign Language Interpreter license. Completion of an interpreter preparation program or equivalent experience required.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:American Sign Language (ASL) proficient.Experience working with Students with Disabilities.Experience translating academic subject matter for students.Ability to provide educational information to parents, school staff and teachers.Accompanies student throughout their schedule to ensure appropriate supervision, safety and well-being of the student.Provide interpreting for extracurricular activities and parent meetings as necessary.Other duties as determined with a supervisor.SALARY RANGE: $42,502 annuallyLOCATION: Tackan Elementary EFFECTIVE: 1/15/2025APPLY BY: 12/16/2024Applications for the above position are to be made by submitting a cover letter including the posting number, two professional references and a resume addressed to: Neil D.
