Responsibilities include: monitoring and recording student progress, assisting students with creating academic plans for their education including scheduling for the following year, collaborating with other educators and administrators to ensure counseling programs meet school/district goals, participating in Instructional Support Team meetings, maintaining regular and open communication with parents, identifying and making appropriate referrals to meet and support students’ academic, social and/or mental health needs, creating and delivering elementary guidance lessons and providing orientation workshops and other public speaking events.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:New York State School Counselor certification.
