Job DescriptionStudent Support CounselorCompensation & BenefitsSTA Collective Bargaining Agreement Certifications/QualificationsValid New York State School Social Worker, School Psychologist, and/or School Counselor certification is required. Minimum three (3) years of experience counseling students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental needs. Strong working knowledge of the principles, practices and techniques of counseling as applied to the developmental needs of elementary and middle school students.A thorough knowledge of individual emotional and behavior patterns, as well as social and economic factors that contribute to student disengagement, disenfranchisement, and withdrawal. Effective, timely, proactive communication with stakeholders.Empathy, patience, and a genuine commitment to supporting student growth & well being. Special Requirements: Candidates will be required to possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment and must maintain a valid driver's license for the duration of their appointment to this position.
