Deputy Treasurer Effective July 1, 2024The position operates under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent for Business and Operations and the Board of Education and includes overall responsibility for the accounting of fiscal operations of the School District. Preferred experience will include the management of school business operations, including general ledger accounting, fund accounting, payroll, and grants management. CPA preferred. Responsibilities Include (but Not limited to):Oversight of all district funds including General Fund, Cafeteria, Capital, Debt Services, Federal Funds, Scholarship FundsOversight of district bank accounts and cash balancesResponsible for transfers and wires of district funds and act as signatory on all district disbursementsProcess bi-weekly payroll transfers, direct deposits, positive pay and submit federal and state payroll taxes Reconciliation of quarterly payroll taxes paidPrepare monthly bank reconciliationsPreparation and maintenance of accounting records, reports and correspondence including the preparation of monthly and year end reportsPrepare annual reports including ST-3, Federal Transparency Report, MOE Calculator and other filingsWork with and provide supporting documentation to Internal Auditors, External Auditors, including single audit of Federal Funds and periodic State AuditorsProvide supporting schedules to external auditors to assist in the preparation of annual Financial Statements and NotesMonthly reporting to Board of Education including Treasurers Report, cash flow and collateralProvide annual information for TANS borrowingManage Extra Class funds, including all deposits and disbursementsEnter all journal entriesMaintenance of capital fund accounts for capital projectsCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceON-LINE APPLICATIONS ONLYwww.olasjobs.org/nassauNo telephone calls or paper resumesSheena R.
