Applicants should possess NYS School Building Leader or School District Leader Certification, a strong background in positive, proactive discipline, curriculum, instruction, social emotional support of children and families, and professional development. Experience required in implementing and management of APPR, the observation and evaluation process, and providing faculty and staff with actionable feedback. Experience necessary in RtI, evidence-based interventions, the CSE/504 process, chairing meetings, and supporting inclusive learning environments that meet the needs of all learners. Experience working as a part of an interdisciplinary team on family interventions and supports. Experience cultivating a school culture of equity, progressive discipline, and fostering a positive social emotional learning environment is highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge and experience to support the principal in: ensuring a positive and safe learning environment through effective disciplinary practices and proactive, systemic expectations delivering professional development through a variety of means supervising Responsive Classroom practices ensuring programs and resources are delivered consistently by teachers fostering systematic use of formal and informal assessments, small group and whole class instruction and research-based interventions for students analyzing data for short and long term planning purposes scheduling developing and supervising after school activities and programs Additional requirements include: teaching experience, proven ability to build positive relationships with families and staff, background in designing and providing professional development for teachers, and knowledge of effective elementary instruction.Job Duties Breakdown 70% of the position will be spent directly working with teachers, students, and their families in order to facilitate a safe climate, social emotional growth, academicreadiness, and sustained improvement. 30% of the position will be working on professional development, teacher evaluation, and basic administrative duties /paperwork.
