The Scotia-Glenville Central School District (SGCSD) is accepting applications for a probationary special education teacher position at the elementary level. Job responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to the following: Collaborate with the general education teacher to plan instruction for all students in the classroom, paying particular attention to the Specially Designed Instructional needs of students with disabilities. Contribute to and plan lessons that align with the state standards and designated curriculum framework. Collaborate with colleagues to ensure students are being exposed to academic rigor. Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers, parents, and community providers to understand and meet the needs of students. Analyze multiple data sets to inform instruction and decisions regarding educational programming. Progress monitor IEP goals by providing differentiated instruction, delivering interventions with fidelity, collecting and analyzing data, and monitoring students’ response to the interventions. Follow all district policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students. Manage student behavior through de-escalation strategies and positive behavioral supports. Minimum Qualifications: NYS Teacher Certification in Special Education either Students with Disabilities 1-6 Generalist, Students with Disabilities K-12, or All Grades certification. Dual certification or Statement of Continued Eligibility (SOCE) in core subject areas is desirable.
