The Scotia-Glenville Central School District is accepting applications for a full-time long-term substitute Science Teacher at the High School. The successful LTS candidate will teach three sections of Regents Life Science: Biology aligned to NYSSLS and one section of an Introduction to Medicine science elective. The LTS assignment will run from approximately April 10, 2025, through June 27, 2025. Appropriate New York State science certification is required. Key Responsibilities & Qualifications:Knowledge and a working understanding of the NGSS/NYSSLS.Develop lessons to engage students in the science curriculum with the goal of mastery of the standards.Be approachable and willing to meet students where they are at academically and emotionally.Be a team player within the science department as well as within the Scotia-Glenville High School faculty.Engage parents and families in the learning process through regular communication.Complete all tasks as required of probationary science teachers including but not limited to grading, communication with parents as needed, and providing student support as needed (during and after school).
