Scotia-Glenville Central School District is accepting applications for the K-12 Director of Technology. This is a 12-month, district-level position that reports directly to the Superintendent. The successful candidate must be an innovative, creative leader that will support the district in meeting its mission to educate ALL students.Preferred QualificationsDiverse backgrounds/experiences and technology interestsDemonstrated leadership skillsExperience in educational settings preferedPositive attitude and passion for education and technologyAn adaptable and coachable mindsetStrong interest in working collaboratively as part of a teamNew York State Certification as a School District LeaderDuties and ResponsibilitiesMonitors the allocation of educational technology funds for the purpose of ensuring appropriate resources and technology are available and are effectively utilized in support of the District's mission and educational technology plan.Oversees the design and maintenance of computer networks (e.g., internet, webmail, servers, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring effective operating systems.Oversees network operations and software applications, operating systems, district wide server backup, routine maintenance programs, etc. for the purpose of ensuring efficient operations.Consult and advise district administration on network related security issues; lead the incident response team when necessary.Ensure district compliance with state and federal technology mandates and initiatives.Facilitates meetings that may frequently involve a range of issues (e.g., planning, budget, regulatory requirements, actions involving outside agencies, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating situations, identifying appropriate actions, and/or developing recommendations.Communicates technology related activities in a timely manner to all stakeholdersDirects the installation of technology systems and tools (e.g., hardware, software, systems, wiring, specialized applications and tools) for the purpose of ensuring the safe, timely and efficient installation of technology equipment and services.Manages procurement, inventory and surplus of technology equipment, systems and related services.Monitors technology budget and expenditures within budget limits and ensures that fiscal practices and Board of Education policies are followed.Performs personnel evaluative and supervisory functions (e.g., hiring, coaching, training, providing professional development opportunities, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining necessary staffing, enhancing productivity of staff and students, and ensuring necessary department/program outcomes are achieved.Other tasks of duties as assigned by the SuperintendentSkills, Knowledge and AbilitiesGeneral knowledge of Ed Law 2-d and its requirements for providing technology and applications in schoolsGeneral knowledge of computers and related technologies as they apply to K-12 EducationGeneral knowledge of infrastructure requirements and components of local and wide area networks, Internet and intranetsAbility to communicate effectively with all levels of school system staffAbility to assist users and trainers with software and hardware direction, guidance and initiativesLocation: Scotia-Glenville Central School District OfficeStart Date: On or about July 1, 2024Salary: Commensurate with Experience, Excellent Benefits Package AvailableApplication Deadline: May 31, 2024
