The Scotia-Glenville Central School District (SGCSD) has three (3) openings for the 2023-2024 school year and is accepting applications for a full-time, 10-month, probationary Special Education Teacher. There are two positions at Glen Worden Elementary School, each in a Developmental Skills classroom (grades K-2 and 3-5). There is also an open position at Glendaal Elementary School that involves consultant teacher and resource room services.Job responsibilities and expectations include but are not limited to the following: Collaborate with the general education teacher to plan instruction for all students in the classroom, paying particular attention to the Specially Designed Instructional needs of students with disabilities (Glendaal job opening only) Contribute to and plan lessons that align with the state standards and designated curriculum framework Collaborate with administrators, teachers, related service providers, parents, and community providers to understand and meet the needs of students Analyze multiple data sets to inform instruction and decisions regarding educational programming Progress monitor IEP goals by providing differentiated instruction, delivering interventions with fidelity, collecting and analyzing data, and monitoring students’ response to the interventions Manage student behavior through de-escalation strategies and positive behavioral supports Follow all district policies and procedures, along with state and federal regulations pertaining to our school and students.Minimum Qualifications: New York State Teacher Certification in Special Education either Students with Disabilities 1-6 Generalist or Students with Disabilities K-12. Literacy background is desirable.
