Middle School Principal (Interim)The Scarsdale Public Schools seeks exemplary candidates for the position of Interim Principal at Scarsdale Middle School. The school spans grades 6-8, and offers a rich and varied educational program to the high-achieving student population of approximately 1120 students. The school community boasts an accomplished faculty and staff of 130, along with an active, supportive parent body. Scarsdale Middle School focuses on the developmental needs of early adolescents, and fosters a highly challenging, nurturing, and supportive intellectual environment.The Interim Principal will lead the talented faculty and staff during the 2023-24 school year, as we anticipate a full search for the 2024-25 school year. We are seeking an educator with a demonstrated record of accomplishment as a Principal in a high-achieving middle school. The successful candidate will: provide instructional leadership, and shepherd the evaluation and improvement of educational programs;collaborate with the assistant principal, faculty, staff, students, and parents to promote a safe, nurturing, and supportive learning environment that fosters mutual respect;model and promote critical and creative thinking while fostering inclusion and belonging for all memebers of the school community; arrive at decisions through fair-minded collaboration;be a strong advocate for children;Hold SAS, SBL, SDA, and/or SDL certification.
