The Scarsdale Union Free School District is seeking candidates for a probationary CPSE/CSE Chairperson position for the 2024-2025 school year. This is a full time 10-month position which includes a highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package. Valid NYS Certification (Special Education, Students with Disabilities Speech and Language Disabilities, or School Psychologist) is required.Preferred Qualifications:At least three to five years of successful work experience in a school district setting, preferable as a CPSE/CSE ChairpersonThorough understanding of CPSE/CSE guidelines and regulations as related to Special Education servicesExtensive knowledge of psychological and educational testing and evaluations;Ability to problem solve and work effectively with facilities and various agenciesExcellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written and digital)Bilingual (fluent in Spanish)DutiesImplement and maintain procedures relevant to the CPSE/CSE process;Ensure that all students referred to the CPSE/CEE receive the necessary evaluations;Work cooperatively with parents, preschools, agencies and the District to coordinate programs and services as a result of CPSE/CSE and Early intervention meetings;Chair CPSE/CSE meetings an complete IEPs;Works cooperative with the school staff to place students in appropriate educational programs;Stay appraised of all NYS laws and regulations pertaining to special education services for school age students.
