The Science Academies of New York (SANY) is seeking an Instructional Technology Coordinator to work in the Instructional Technology Department in our district office located in Syracuse.As an Instructional Technology Coordinator, you will play a key role in integrating technology seamlessly into our educational programs and facilitating the effective use of digital tools to enhance the learning experience for both students and educators. The position is full-time.Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Education, Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field (Master's preferred).State of New York Professional Educator License, Educational Technology is preferred. A minimum of five years of teaching experience in the K-12 educational environment is preferred. Proven experience in instructional technology coordination, integration, or similar roles within an educational setting. Strong understanding of pedagogical principles and learning theories, with the ability to apply them to technology-enhanced instruction.Proficiency in a variety of educational software, learning management systems (LMS), multimedia tools, and online collaboration platforms such as Google Apps for Education, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel including Pivot Tables), Web 2.0, and Social Media Tools (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.), and image & video editing tools. Proficiency in hardware such as LCD projectors, document cameras, interactive whiteboards (SMART Boards), mobile devices (iOS & Android), and digital image capture tools. Excellent communication skills to provide training, support, and guidance to educators and staff.Problem-solving abilities to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize the use of digital tools.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and establish positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.Passion for staying updated on emerging technologies and their potential applications in education.Ability to work successfully under direction, independently, and in conjunction with other district team members that have varying levels of technical expertise.Ability to read and understand technical materials.Foster a positive working and learning environment.Physically able to lift and carry 50 pounds.Valid New York State driver’s license. Job Goal:To provide leadership and guidance in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district's technology curriculum; enhance technology integration throughout the curriculum; promote the effective use of instructional technology throughout the schools; and provide staff with professional development opportunities. Responsibilities:Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to develop strategies for integrating technology into the curriculum.Identify, evaluate, and recommend educational technology resources, tools, and platforms that align with curriculum objectives and instructional goals.Manage the day-to-day tasks and roles of the Instructional Technology Coordinator in developing informational and instructional supports to meet users' needs.Provide training and professional development sessions to educators on the effective use of technology in the classroom, including hardware and software applications.Be able to screencast while preparing training materials.Be able to track and document professional development sessions.Assist teachers in designing and developing digital learning materials, interactive lessons, and multimedia presentations.Support implementing blended learning and online education initiatives, ensuring a smooth transition to digital platforms.Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in educational technology, attending conferences and workshops to remain current in the field.Troubleshoot technical issues related to hardware, software, and networking within the educational environment.Collaborate with IT staff to ensure the availability, functionality, and security of technology resources used for instructional purposes.Collect and analyze data on the effectiveness of technology integration, and use insights to refine strategies and improve the learning experience.Foster a culture of innovation and technology-enhanced learning within the educational community.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Information and Instructional Technologies.About the Company:SANY encompasses four charter schools in New York State, The Syracuse Academy of Science, The Utica Academy of Science, The Syracuse Academy of Science and Citizenship, and The Citizenship & Science Academy of Rochester.
