Sauquoit Valley Central School is in search of a Director of Instructional & Business Services. Purpose: To provide strategic leadership in the planning, development, and implementation of both the district's financial operations and its instructional programs, ensuring that fiscal resources are effectively aligned with the district's educational goals. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Leadership & Business Operations Budget Development: Lead the annual district budget process, presenting a transparent financial plan to the Board of Education. Fiscal Oversight: Manage all district accounting, payroll, purchasing, and auditing functions. State & Federal Reporting: Ensure timely and accurate filing of all state aid forms, grant financial reports, and compliance documentation. Risk Management: Oversee district insurance, investments, and long-term debt management. Infrastructure: Oversee facilities planning, space utilization, and capital project coordination. Stewardship: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and audit requirements. 2. Instructional Oversight Curriculum Alignment: Provide high-level oversight of K-12 curriculum development and ensure it meets state standards. Professional Development: Coordinate strategic professional learning opportunities that align with both district goals and budget constraints. Assessment & Data: Oversee the analysis of student achievement data to inform both instructional changes and resource allocation. Grant Management: Direct the application and implementation of Title grants and other instructional funding sources. Enrollment Oversight: Provide guidance to the District Registrar in managing district enrollment protocols, ensuring alignment with applicable policies, regulations, and laws 3. Strategic Synergy Resource Allocation: Align academic goals with financial and operational capacity. Operational Efficiency: Evaluate the ROI (Return on Investment) of instructional programs to ensure district funds are being used effectively to improve student outcomes. Contract Negotiations: Assist in collective bargaining by providing the data-driven bridge between personnel needs and fiscal reality. Qualifications Education: Master’s degree required; advanced degree preferred. Certification: New York State certification as School District Leader (SDL) and/or School District Business Leader (SDBL), or eligibility for appropriate certification. Experience: Demonstrated experience in instructional leadership and/or school business operations; strong knowledge of school finance, budgeting, and regulatory compliance; proven ability to lead collaboratively and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders; commitment to servant leadership and student-centered decision-making.
