Minimum Qualifications:Custodial experience (1+ years preferred);Familiar with cleaning products and techniques;Must be able to lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds;Must have reliable transportation;Must be able to pass a background check;Philosophy inline with the District Mission; andApproval from Ulster County Department of Civil Service.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.Job Summary or Functions:Saugerties Central School District is looking for a reliable and experienced Custodial Worker to join our team. The work involves responsibility for the performance of building cleaning and minor maintenance tasks. The work is carried out in accordance with established procedures or specific instructions and involves repetitive manual work. Duties and ResponsibilitiesSweep and mop floors;Vacuum carpeting;Spray and wipe down all countertops and desks;Empty trash bins, disposing of trash properly;Sanitize and stock all office bathrooms;Follow all safety procedures;Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies;Deliver packages and messages;Assists in unloading incoming supplies;Minor repairs;Paints rooms and equipment;May assist in grounds keeping tasks; andPerform other responsibilities as assigned.Assist with snow removal (shoveling, snow blowing, salting).
