Position Title: Anticipated CSE Chairperson - Probationary Aligned to: Saugerties Teachers’ AssociationImmediately Responsible to: Director of Special Education Minimum Qualifications:Required: Must have Special Education Experience Philosophical compatibility with the stated mission and goals of the School DistrictPreferred: NYS Certification as a Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist or School Counselor CSE & CPSE Chairperson Certification BilingualNYS Professional CertificationSuch alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable. Specific Responsibilities:Conduct initial eligibility, transfer, program review, annual review meetings Review students’ state and local data as well as standardized testing to determine eligibility for special education services Oversee the development of students’ individualized education plan Maintain students in the least restrictive environment Conduct classroom observation of students Performs such additional duties as may be assigned by Director of Special EducationEvaluation: The evaluation of the person filling this position is conducted by a certified administrator according to the current Bargaining Agreement.
