Position : Library Media Teacher, Rye Neck Middle/High School, Grades (Full-Time, Probationary, Tenure-Track) Available : August 31, 2026 for the 2026-27 school year Compensation: Commensurate with experience and educational attainment (For reference, the starting salaries for BA/Step 1 is $63,524 and for MA/Step 1 is $72,146) Qualifications : Valid NYS Library Media Specialist/Librarian Certification (required) Responsibilities : Collaborate with teachers to design and deliver lessons that integrate research skills, digital literacy, and critical thinking Support inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with curriculum standards Promote reading engagement and a lifelong love of learning Provide instruction in information literacy, media literacy, and ethical use of information Manage the daily operation of the school library/media center Curate, evaluate, and maintain a diverse and relevant collection of print and digital resources Oversee circulation, cataloging, and inventory of materials Develop and manage the library budget Guide students and staff in the effective use of databases, online resources, and emerging technologies Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that supports all learners Assist students in selecting appropriate reading materials and research resources Stay current with trends in education, literacy, and library science Participate in professional development and school/district initiatives Maintain accurate records and reports related to library usage and resources Advocate for the library program within the school community.
