The district is seeking a talented and visionary leader who can build upon the high school’s many accomplishments and valued traditions.Principal - Rye High SchoolEffective August 1, 2024 - Or as Mutually AgreedRye High School serves 960 students with a teaching staff of 79. Over 95% of its graduates enter universities and colleges. To meet the needs of all students, the school offers classes at all levels, including 22 Advanced Placement courses. Last year, over fifty percent of Rye’s students participated in the AP program. Rye High School was recently approved as an International Baccalaureate candidate school in the authorization process. The Rye Academy is a project-based learning school within a school available to juniors and seniors that provides experiential learning with a focus on research and community partnerships. Students are provided with an extensive extracurricular program, which includes the performing and fine arts, numerous and diverse clubs, and an athletic program with twenty different sports for both men and women.The successful candidate will be:An experienced school leader, preferably as a high school principal, who exercises good judgment in addressing the complex issues which arise at the high school level;A leader who utilizes a collaborative approach to decision making, holding true to what is best for all students;A transparent, consistent decision maker who follows through to ensure that decisions are properly implemented;An instructional leader, willing to learn about Rye High School and develop a shared vision as to how it may be improved;A person of integrity who communicates effectively with all stakeholders of the school.The Rye City School District is offering a regionally-competitive compensation package.
